Amanda Brown, DVM
Amanda Brown, DVMAmanda Brown is the star of Generation Vet. She is young, impetuous, caring, and brilliant. She is never without her iPhone and she never misses a trip to Starbucks. In character and behavior, Amanda represents today’s face of veterinary medicine.

Generation Vet tells Amanda's story as she figures out her life and her career from a professional and personal perspective.
Animal Hospital Staff
Dr. C.
Dr. CAs the practice owner of Animal Hospital in the Philadelphia suburbs, Dr. C. is boss and mentor of Amanda. He can be tough and demanding, but loves what he does, and considers his team his family.

Known affectionately as Dr. C. to his staff, he is a veterinarian from the baby boomer generation. He has seen a lot, done a lot, learned a lot, and feels a responsibility to instill his wisdom and work ethic into the next generation of practitioners. Despite his years of experience, he enjoys learning as much as teaching, and appreciates what young vets bring to a practice.
Cathy
CathyCathy is the most experienced veterinary technician at Animal Hospital and as a result she has become Amanda's right hand. Assisting in surgeries, checking in on patients, helping pet owners and anticipating Amanda's every need in the exam room is where Cathy shines.

Because of her close relationship with Amanda, Cathy also has no problem calling Amanda out on things or poking fun at her from time to time.
Stacey
StaceyThe newest and youngest member of the team at Animal Hospital , Stacey is still learning the ropes.

She has always loved animals and feels very much at home in the veterinary practice setting. Still not sure if she wants to apply to veterinary school, Stacey is content to learn what she can from the staff at Animal Hospital for now, and enjoys her daily interaction with animals. She takes great pride in knowing that what she does helps them.
Wendy
WendyWendy is the ever-loyal front-line receptionist at Animal Hospital and a frequently recurring character. She handles all the incoming and outgoing patients, and spends a lot of time on the phone setting up appointments and fielding calls for Amanda.

With a hint of wit and cynicism, Wendy has a unique sense of humor that the other staff members appreciate, and can usually be relied on for a sympathetic ear when they need to vent.
Friends
Liz Davis
Liz DavisLiz is one of Amanda's best friends from vet school. Known mainly for her quick-witted intelligence, Liz also has a reputation for being a very big personality when she's out with her girls.

Liz practices out of state, and doesn't get to spend as much time as she used to with the old crew from school, but when she comes to the Philadelphia area, they all make a point of getting together for drinks and swapping outrageous stories from work.
Michelle Jones
Michelle JonesMichelle is another one of Amanda's best friends from school. During school and even after graduation, Michelle spent some time working overseas, and loves to travel.

Having just recently settled in the Philadelphia area, she is able to stay in touch with the old crew and has found work at a nearby hospital while trying to decide if she'll go back to school to specialize in internal medicine, or if she will continue working to support her travel habit.
Robert Jones
Robert JonesRobert is Amanda's on-again/off-again boyfriend. While very much in love with Amanda and an old-fashioned romantic, he sometimes struggles with understanding who she is personally. His biggest issue in their relationship is coping with how much time she spends at work, and he tries to steal her away for dates wherever and whenever he can. At times it seems he’s more in love with an idealized Amanda than he is with the real woman in front of him.

Robert grew up in the Philadelphia area and works in the accounting department for a large company in the city. After meeting Amanda at the party of a mutual friend a couple of years ago, he was instantly smitten and he really believes this girl is the one for him. Will he and Amanda end up together or part ways? Only time will tell!
Sarah Taylor
Sarah TaylorBoisterous, loud and fiesty, Sarah brings enough fun and drama for the entire group. Sarah is a Jersey girl who connected with Amanda in veterinary school and now lives and practices back in New Jersey. The thing Amanda loves about Sarah is that she is always ready to go out and have some fun at a moment's notice, whether it's hanging out at the beach during the summer or drinks with the girls on a weeknight.

Sarah had to work a little harder than her friends to keep up in school, but maybe it was just too much time spent chasing boys at parties around campus.

June Allison
June AllisonJune is a veterinary technician who connected with Amanda when they did a trip together in Peru in support of Amazon Cares. June is known for her good looks and fiesty personality, and additionally for her amazing skills assisting veterinarians during surgery.

She hails from Scotland, but now resides in Australia. In addition to an outstanding resume and education in veterinary nursing, she also studied photography and drama.
Nikka Harvey
Nikka HarveyNikka is a veterinary technician who connected with Amanda when they did a trip together in Peru in support of Amazon Cares.

Nikka is the visionary for her company, Zoo Mommy, and handles all of the marketing, expansion, social media, as well as company management. In addition to studying veterinary medicine she also holds Pet First Aid/CPR accreditations and spends every waking moment with someone’s little baby in her hands. Nikka takes care of animals all over the Knoxville area. Nikka has had all types of pets in her life since birth and often practiced critical care on them while attending nursing school in her first years of college.
Patrick Mahaney, VMD
Patrick MahaneyPatrick is a veterinarian who connected with Amanda when they did a trip together in Peru in support of Amazon Cares.

Dr. Mahaney completed the International Veterinary Acupuncture Society (IVAS) basic course in 2006 and is now a Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA). He earned this certification after graduating from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine in 1999 and completed an internship at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C in 2000. Now a resident of southern California, he also works with local Los Angeles rescue organizations to help those pets that have been given a second chance to live healthier lives. A bit of a celebrity, Dr. Mahaney also shares his pet care knowledge in the Los Angeles Pet Care Examiner column and works with Perez Hilton on his animal information site, Teddy Hilton.com.
Molly Mednikow
Molly MednikowMolly is the founder of Amazon Cares and coordinated the trip to Peru where she connected with Amanda.

As a busy entrepreneur in Tennessee and Georgia, Molly found time to dedicate to charities and eventually created the Amazon Community Animal Rescue, Education and Safety (Amazon CARES). It remains the only charity in the entire Peruvian Amazon region dedicated to the protection of domestic animals and wildlife. Programs extend far beyond animal health, and CARES is recognized for humane education, assisted animal therapy, and volunteer driven travel to areas with no access to veterinary care. In addition to opening the most modern veterinary clinic in the town of Iquitos, the capital of the region, CARES purchased 2 acres of property on the Rio Itaya where they operate a no-kill animal shelter.
Jessica Vogelsang, DVM
Jessica VogelsangJessica is a veterinarian who connected with Amanda when they did a trip together in Peru in support of Amazon Cares. Amanda has been a fan of her blog, Pawcurious, for quite some time.

Jessica Vogelsang, DVM has been blogging about the veterinary experience in various outlets since her fledgling days as a student at UC Davis in 2000. Strangely enough, people were fascinated by stories of draining abscesses and anal gland impactions. In 2009, she decided to take her voice public by starting pawcurious.com, a website chronicling the day-to-day life of a small animal veterinarian.
Pet
Carpark
CarparkAmanda found this domestic shorthair abandoned in the Animal Hospital parking lot after her shift just before the first minisode. Unable to just leave him, Amanda took the cat home with her and adopted him then and there. She named him Carpark in homage to the location of their first enounter.

Despite leaving hairballs near the foot of Amanda's bed and needing emergency care one time that cost Amanda her vacation, Carpark is the recipient of constant doting from his new owner and pleased with his new home.
